Being a Southern woman, I have been to a few juke joints in my time. The atmosphere and the people and most of all the music fascinated me beyond belief, delivering the corn liquor to the juke joints with my daddy was always a sight to see. I can smell within my mind the memories of what was there to see and hear.
Music has always been part of my being since I can remember. I think my first records (45 rpm’s) were “Wooly Bully” and Chubby Checkers “The Twist” when I was 4 years old. When I was a teen, I worked in a record store most of my time in high school. I was always intrigued and still am with all types of musical genre’s but for me I loved blues and rock with every fibre in my soul.
I love to play the off the beaten path tunes and do some research for all the artist there are out there. Live Concerts , blues festivals and promoting bands is my hobby. Photography is another passion in my life. It all blends in my with family life, since my hubby was a musician when I met him and still plays and now my youngest son is a drummer and a dang good one. As for my music ability well I’m designated as oldest groupie in the fine State of Florida. If I can get to a blues show I will be first there and also be the first to get their picture taken with the main attraction. Yes! I’m a maniac for music.
When I got introduced to Second Life I was instantly fascinated with the blues clubs. When I realized I could hook a mic up I was dying to share my music and my outlook on the whole music scene. As I am new to being a DJ, I have so much more to learn and I’m very excited to find out all I can to help my listener’s have the best blues experience they possibly can when they are at my shows. I have a great admiration for so many other DJ’s and its such a fine pleasure to learn and see the different techniques and styles.
So Way down here in the swamps of the Florida/Georgia line sits a blues rockin’ mama who spins her heart out to anyone who will listen on SL. If you haven’t come by Riverside on a late Sunday night when I’m spinning my tunes come on by and sit a spell. We can blues the night away and talk of the old days of the swamp life of a moonshiner’s daughter.
Muahhhhhhhh, loves you all.
