I have been lucky to have music in my life for many years. I can remember taking up drums at around 6 or 7 years old. I was the scorn of my music teacher as I would “peck” with my drum sticks on any and all surfaces. It was not long before I placed all that energy into performing with musical marching units called drum corp. After about a decade in drum corp, I moved on to jazz vocals and a brief stint with club bands (where I learned I really did not have talent). To stay in music I picked up doing DJ gigs in real life (RL) at weddings and parties and now in Second Life (SL). I no longer have time to DJ in RL, but continue my SL gigs.
A little more current, I have been spinning in SL for a few years mainly at rock clubs. However, I always liked blues, alternative, jazz and pop. I started a blues show at another club and seemed to get a good response to the mix. I am at the Riverside as a referral from my associate, DJ Blu, that there was a new blues club opening. After talking to Ray I was impressed with his knowledge and passion. Everyone (visitors, staff) I have met at the Riverside has made this an excellent experience.
The good news is, I get to do something I really like to do and the visitors to the Riverside seem to enjoy what they hear.
