I was born in Mexico, grew up in Canada, went to college in Texas, moved back to Toronto and moved to the US midwest three years ago… If you ask me where I hail from, the most likely answer you may get is “NAFTA”. It was in Texas that I was introduced to the “Texas Blues” genre (ZZ Top, SRV), I guess that would make me a “Rocksy Blues” junkie.
Back to Toronto after college, I started hanging out at Healey’s almost every week, where I met the man himself, that was one of the best memories I keep of the place.
I played the guitar since age 16, though I stopped when I went to college and picked it back up when I went back to Toronto. I would name BB King, Chuck Berry, Jeff Healey, Eric Clapton, Steve Lukather and Dire Straits as my musical influences.
The Riverside was my first formal hosting experience, I am forever grateful to Ray, Cid and Ann for making it a fun place to, not just work, but also to meet friends who share our passion for The Blues.
