Time to collect all the holiday season photos and put them up on the blog. This has been such an incredible month really. I knew we had a pretty tight knit group but I found out it was more than that. I found out that the Riverside holds meaning for so many which is quite a surprise. I know people enjoy the club. I wasn’t sure that the community we have been trying to establish was there though. Any doubts I may have had were way off.
It was with genuine amazement that I saw the docks busy on Christmas day, even when no one was working. People showed up because it was their community and they wanted to be with their friends. The staff was filling in and supporting each other during the Christmas week when real life had so many reasons to be elsewhere. Yet, the people came by the Delta. In record numbers too.
We started our winter festivities when we moved the party out to the frozen pond on the Delta sim. It is down at the end of the street from the club and was a nice outing for everyone to take a break from the club and skate, dance and enjoy the snow. We spent a full week out there and had a real ball.
The frozen pond was very popular but the real winner was the docks as The Riverside’s ” Christmas Lights on the River” was a huge hit. It even got a write up in SL’s Best Magazine. The dock had a couple of house boats all lit up and the dock itself was strung with Christmas lights as well. Mostly it was just a great time and great show of community spirit.
New Year’s Eve found us celebrating in the Riverside ballroom up in the clouds. This was just an amazing day start to finish. The club was full to capacity from early in the morning until 4 AM SLT. Everyone looked great all decked out in black and white or both.
The holiday season at the Riverside was truly something special. Many greetings and well wishes were given and right now I would like to take the moment for Cid and I to wish all of you a Happy New Year and all the best for this coming year.
